About

I'm Kevin Smith. So is the director, the podcast host, and about 400 other people on LinkedIn. When it was time for a new gig, I Googled myself and realized strangers see a mess of other Kevin Smiths before they find me. That's a problem you can't fix — but you can at least know what's there and be ready to talk about it.

What it does

whoami.fyi shows you what people find when they search for your name. Enter your name, tag which Google results are actually you, and get an instant assessment of your search presence — including who you might be confused with.

The problem this solves

Recruiters Google you. That's not controversial — it's step one of every hiring process. But if you have a common name, the results they find might not be you at all. They might be someone else in your field, someone controversial, or just someone confusingly similar.

You can't control what Google shows. But you can know what's there, know who you might be confused with, and be ready to address it.

What it's not

This is not a background check service. We search Google the same way a recruiter would and fetch publicly available profiles. No scraping, no private data, no employment records.

We don't assign a score. No "digital reputation index." You get a narrative assessment: what's strong, what's missing, what could be confusing, and what to be ready to talk about.

Privacy

Nothing is stored. No accounts, no databases, no analytics on your results. Your data flows through and is discarded. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe — card details never touch our server. Read the full privacy policy for the technical details.
